Ok I'm going to start with a disclaimer: My feelings about this watch may have been different if I did not already own an Apple Watch before buying this one. Because I've experienced an Apple Watch, it made me really impatient and underwhelmed with this watch.I also acknowledge that this watch may be wayyyyy better for someone with an Android phone, because its designed to operate with AndroidWear software vs iOS.BUT here's my experience and why I would not recommend anyone spend this kind of money on this watch, especially if you have an iphone. The summary of everything Im about to say: all you are paying for, is the fancy look. This watch = Looks with no substance. The watch has limited features. Other than viewing your notifications, there's not much you can do with it other than change around the watch face. There is an option to track your fitness and workouts, but honestly who is working out and sweating in a $350 metal Michael Kors watch? This watch is meant to look pretty - it's not a sports watch. if you work out in it, the metal WILL rust. It does count your steps, but any watch can do that without paying that hefty price. This watch simply displays your notifications, but you cant do anything with them. You cant connect to your social media for posting and browsing purposes - only to access your photos for the sole purpose of changing the watch face. This is an overpriced watch that does not offer significantly useful features.

Do not buy unless you want to pay $350 for a used watch thrown in a box with charger. The watch is all scratched up and the charger is dirty. Photo shows how the watch arrived

I recently received this watch as a birthday gift and didn't even realize that it was a smart watch. I have found this watch so beyond useful and amazing. It is very much like the apple smart watch, of which I used to own one, but this is so much better. it messages and tracks your steps and alerts your message when you receive them. like any other watch. But I've been able to respond to facebook messages, instagram and even send e-mails with this. I love it. You can choose different faces for your watch to display what you need or just have a classic look for it. Now if you do not have it on battery save then yes it will drain quickly as most smart watches do. However, I have had mine of battery save for the past five days and it is just now getting close to the point where I need to recharge it. Absolutely love this watch and highly recommend it.

UPDATE:The watch disconnects from the band on each side by two little buttons, one on each side of the bezel (four buttons total...They're the little knobs in the photos). To make the watch fall off your arm, all you have to do is bump one and move your arm at the same time (and it is much easier to take the band off than to put it back on). I thought it was a bad and risky design, but I assumed I was being too critical, so I didn't mention it. But the watch has already come apart and fallen off after like three days, and I was DRIVING. Not playing rugby or whatever. If I hadn't been wearing a jacket it would have bounced on the floor. The battery life and charging speed are a serious problem. I had to turn off all of the cool stuff to make the battery last all day. No gestures, no ambient time screen. I have to tap the screen to see the time. No OK Google detection. Everything is off. (But I do have an animated watch face.) So I had a fifty percent charge and started a workout in Endomondo. I went on a 2.5-hour walk with my dog. The watch died right when we got home. That tells me that at times the watch may have only a five-hour battery life. Basically if you use the watch much, it will get eight hours or less of battery. There is no quick charge. It takes an unbelievable amount of time to charge the 300mAh battery. If there is a type of charger that would work better than what I'm using, I wouldn't know, because it didn't come with the watch and it isn't mentioned in the specs (hardly anything is).I think this watch is mostly for people who want to get social notifications on their wrist, and have a high-quality, beautiful timepiece. And when there's enough battery the other stuff is really cool too. So that's why I'm not dropping it to 3 stars.BTW, to resize this watch, you have to have some way of pounding out the tiny pins that hold the links together, without scratching the watch finish. It's easiest to get a professional to do it. I bought a little kit on Amazon for a few bucks but it scratched the finish on one link. I'm not a fan of any part of how this watch band works. You can download a few different BADICAL Android Wear apps that make your watch waaaay more functional. I found some watch faces that show custom data (like Google Fit step count, weather and battery percentage) and have shortcuts (to open favorite apps or to change settings like phone volume). But the best thing is Wear Mini Launcher. You can use whatever watch face you like (functional or pretty), and it lets you add a little floating icon above that. When you tap the icon (mine is a pumpkin right now), a widget drawer opens. You can choose like nine settings to change, or apps to open. I have mine set to change phone volume (cycles through silent, mute, audible), to ring the phone if I can't find it, change media volume, open clock, open reminders, open Google Keep, etc. Then there is an app drawer. You can turn on or off the different drawers depending on how you use the watch. This app has made the watch a thousand times more useful. Google Keep is the only list app I've found that lets you type in new items. Most require opening the phone. But Listonic looks best (you have to dictate new items if you want to enter them on the watch). It's way better to cross off items on the watch while shopping, rather than having to enter my passcode in my phone a hundred times.ORIGINAL REVIEW:This watch is sort of incredible, but has some serious flaws. The rated battery life is 24 hours. I'm assuming they mean it will last that long after you get tired of playing with it constantly, because right now I'm getting like a quarter of that. But I'm setting everything up and making it just right. Most of the battery drain is from the screen being on.The watch comes with lovely glitzy watch faces, but I downloaded some others that work better. I found a couple of custom face makers that let you add shortcuts to the screen. There is only one button on this watch, so navigating can take a lot of swiping and tapping if you don't have shortcuts. There aren't any shortcuts on any of the included watch faces, and most Play store faces don't allow you to add them. So you kind of have to choose between beautiful watch face and functional watch. Also, if you choose a sweet fox and deer watch face with fireflies or whatever, the animation will lower the battery life. So your choices get fewer and fewer.I wanted this in part to do auto sleep tracking, but even if it can do that (it's hard to find an app that isn't locked to a different brand), the watch lasts less than 24 hours, so you can't sleep with it. You have to charge it. I fell asleep with it last night and when I woke up it was dead. There is no gps which will be fine for most people. There's no camera which will be fine for most people. There's no speaker which I think is a problem. You can set alarms and timers and reminders (with your voice even!) but they just vibrate on the watch only. The alarms and timers don't connect to the phone to use that speaker, either. If you can't sleep with the watch on your arm, then you can't feel it when the alarm is going off anyway. I have very little use for a silent wrist alarm, which is really unfortunate. The wireless charging system is SUPER COOL but the little magnetic disc that you set on the back of the watch can slide off too easily for me. It's held only by the magnet, no ridges or friction at all. It will be fine if it's just on a desk, but if you're trying to charge it while you use it, it's annoying. Also, there is no usb charger so you have to have one already. It should have come with the charger, too.Android Wear has some flaws that aren't the fault of this beautiful watch. I paired the watch with my old phone because my new one wasn't ready, but a day later it WAS ready... and I had to factory-reset the watch and set it up all over again to pair it with the new phone. I'm an Android man through and through, but I don't believe an Apple watch would require that. So, only set up the watch with the phone you really want it paired with. (And unless I'm missing something, don't plan to use it on two phones.)Almost none of the features are hands-free. Even when you dictate something, you usually have to hit the check mark afterward or it won't be sent. Some apps (like Listonic, a shopping list app I found) will only let you dictate items, not type, so you have to use your phone if you want to add something but don't want to talk to your wrist in public. (Google Keep lets you type.)Just a note: Some of the apps won't become available to your watch until you download the phone version. I used the watch to search the app store for my workout app, but nothing showed up at all. The watch apps that complement phone apps show up in the "On your phone" section at the bottom of the Play store app on the watch. The documentation on this watch really sucks. Fortunately Android Wear is documented much better and that's mostly what you need to know.So now that that's out of the way...This watch is SO COOL.I have a smart light switch in my room, and I set up my watch and Google Assistant so I can tell my watch TURN OFF BEDROOM LIGHTS. And it WILL! Like it actually works! I can tell it to do all kinds of stuff that actually works. Some things don't, but I'm figuring out how to do what I want and get around a lot of what I don't like. Growing up we always had the promise of this kind of stuff, but then when you finally got to try it, it didn't work at all. So when I see things like this actually working I'm shocked and ecstatic. The main reason I wanted this watch was to use it with my workout app. It still requires the phone, but once you've set up the app (one time only) you don't even have to touch the phone to start and finish the workout. You can just keep the phone in your pocket or backpack. I like to keep an eye on my average pace, distance and heart rate, and pause workouts quickly when my dog stops to poop, but it's such a hassle to do that on my phone. I can't customize the notification stats on the phone, so I have to unlock it to see everything. But you can customize the stats on the watch! So everything I want to see is right there and I don't have to unlock my phone or slow down.I talk to my family and friends through Hangouts, WhatsApp, gmail and SMS/MMS. There are integrations for all of those (WhatsApp doesn't have a full app, but you can dictate a message through Google Assistant, and when you get a message, WhatsApp notifications will show up on the watch). If you receive an image, it won't necessarily be displayed, which isn't ideal. In Hangouts, it just says "Picture" and you have to look at your phone if you want to see it. I'm hoping the next Android Wear release will address a lot of this, and also be compatible with this watch model. Regardless, it all works better than I expected. I didn't totally believe that I'd be able to type on or dictate to this watch but both work pretty well. Swiping works way better than typing individual letters, which is my preference anyway.Oh and this watch came with a little rose gold buckle to use if you want to put on a buckle/belt band instead of the metal one! Nice touch. It would have been really hard to match the color otherwise. There's so much to talk about with this device, I'm having a hard time staying focused. If you have any questions, let me know! I'll try to answer as best I can. It's very cool but may not be for everybody, and it's hard to tell what it can do without trying it out. So please ask if you want to know anything!

I absolutely love most of Michael Kors stuff. My son bought me this watch for my birthday. Here is is 5 months later and I'm having issues with it. It won't charge. I bought a new charger and still not charging. For this price, it should still be like new. I take very good care of it, but now I can't wear it. It get pretty hot when charging. I'm so dissatisfied, being my son don't make a lot of money and saved for this for me.The watch itself is beautiful, but that don't matter if I can't wear it.

I absolutely adore my MK Sofie watch. I purchased it in gold and it connects to my Samsung Galaxy S6 perfectly. I can use spotify, maps, reply to texts, ask "okay google" questions, translate speech, etc. I did have a little trouble figuring out how to change some notification settings on my phone so that they would push appropriately to the watch, but once that was resolved it's all been smooth sailing. It will only show notifications that you have allowed on your phone, so if you don't like to get email notifications, just turn off the notifications on your phone. It sends all notifications you normally get on your phone to your watch. The only thing i would suggest MK works on before releasing the next generation is to make the battery last longer. I find myself having to charge it every night which i suppose is to be expected just like a phone, but if I turn the display off for most the day i can sometimes make it last 2 days.
